Noise Loop, a Smartwatch Under 5K That Doesn’t Look Cheap

I am sure that after reading the headline you are probably wondering whether you should even spend time reading the review of a smartwatch that costs less than an evening party with your friends.

You are already judging this to be a cheap Samsung Gear or a Moto 360 rip-off. Right?

Truth be told, that’s exactly what I thought when I first put the Noise Loop smartwatch on my wrist, but in the course of time I accepted the limitations of the watch considering its price tag and brand.

Eventually, I felt that this little gizmo deserves – if not the spotlight – maybe just some torch light. Because who doesn’t like something cheap and reliable.

    What’s Good?

The best feature of this smartwatch is its price tag.

At Rs 4,999, you get a working smartwatch with decent battery life and a 1.3-inch HD IPS LCD display. The Noise Loop has a simplistic design and doesn’t overdo on the user interface as well. Since there is no SIM card slot, you can make calls and view text messages via bluetooth. There is a microphone and speaker in the watch so you don’t need to use your phone to talk.

Although, it does look and feel weird at times talking into a watch.

Battery back-up is decent and lasts a day on a single charge. Apart from the basic applications like calendar, phone dialer and more it also comes with anti-lost, remote camera and notification push including calls. There is also a fitness monitoring suit inside which has a heart rate monitor, ECG, health index, pedometer, sedentary reminder and sleep monitor. Oh, one cool feature, you can use the watch as a music player and a camera view finder. It’s a pretty cool feature.

    What’s Bad?

As the watch is offering so much at such an economical price tag, there have to some compromises the user should be ready to make. The problem is, there aren’t ‘some’ but ‘many’ compromises here.

The strap material reveals everything about the quality of the watch. From distance you won’t be able to spot it, but once in the hand you can feel it’s not premium.

For the watch to sync with a phone, one needs to install Fundo Wear app from the Playstore, else the watch will not display any notifications or perform special actions like camera or music player. Nothing about this is mentioned on the box!

The device keeps breaking connection with the application installed and you then don’t receive any notifications. Very irritating. The touch response lags a bit and one has to be really patient to use it. Syncing contacts, making the heart monitor work a lot many other features are going to trouble you.

    Worth the Money?

The Noise Loop is a great offering at Rs 4,999(if only you are desperate to wear a smartwatch). It’s a perfect gizmo to flaunt around at a party, till the time you don’t tell them the price. However, the Noise Loop can’t offer you what is packed in a high-end smart watch.
