Here Are Some Movie Posters, As Pahlaj Nihalani Would Have It

Pahlaj Nihalani was removed from his position as CBFC Chief on Friday evening. He is reportedly being replaced by songwriter and lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

Twitter was, of course, jumping leaps and bounds with joy over this news. “Finally, flowers won’t have to touch each other for the sex humans have,” tweeted one user.

While Twitter celebrates, here is a look at a few film posters – tweaked to Pahlaj Nihalani’s tastes. Enjoy!

    Udta Punjab

Nihalani made more than 80 cuts in the film. And he also demanded that all references to ‘Punjab’ should be removed.

The film was about a homosexual relationship and was banned by the CBFC from releasing in India.

    James Bond – Spectre

A kissing scene was deleted from Spectre. Sanskaari Bond, you see.

    50 Shades of Grey

This movie was banned in India despite the removal of all scenes that contained nudity.

Now, this movie is an odd-one out in this list. You’d think this film was banned, but it wasn’t. When the trailers were launched, many questioned Nihalani’s lack of sanskaari-censoring in the film.

    Lipstick Under My Burkha

Alankrita Shrivastava’s Lipstick Under My Burkha was not given certification for being too “lady oriented”.

    Baar Baar Dekho

CBFC suggested only two cuts for this movie – one for the removal of a scene that showed a bra, and the other for the removal of a reference to Savita Bhabhi.

This film was awarded an ‘A’ certification because Pahlaj didn’t think homosexuality was a topic safe for children.
