Three people were injured in a clash between rival Sikh groups near the entrance of the Golden Temple on Thursday. The clash broke when the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) task force tried throwing Johar Singh, president of local managing committee of Gurudwara Chhota Ghalughara out of the complex.
Johar Singh had been summoned by the "parallel jathedars" to clarify his stand over the ruckus created at the Qadian gurdwara in August following allegations of involvement of a member of the gurdwara management in immoral activities.
Tensions escalated when the supporters of parallel jathedars got involved in a verbal duel with the SGPC task force members.
Manager Darbar Sahib Sulakhan Singh said that the supporters of the parallel Jathedars tried to violate the rules and were responsible for the ruckus.
Three people were injured as both sides clashed with swords, sticks and other traditional weapons.
